Mine went out 3 days ago, water running out of garage down driveway. Called a buddy and had it replaced in 2.5 hours including time
to go get new one. It was a gas unit.

Your city heats up the water before it gets to your water heater?

If they are 10 years old I would get it done asap. Make sure the contractor checks your pressure and installs a properly charged expansion tank.

I set mine at the curb. It was gone in a couple of hours.

Put mine out on trash day and they took it. Can't do that in some cities like Austin unless you filed for a permit.

I need to invent a cold water chiller to offset the hot water heater so I have a warm water warmer.
