Veterans get the same. I'm expecting my rent to go up. Around 2.5% of up.

not Funny how that works.

But now for the good news, Medicare went up more than SS increase.

Didn't they drop about $5 last year? They go up, they go down and either way its cheap IMO.

Social Security needs to be optional moving forward for anyone under 50. No changes for anyone over 50. If you want to pay in and get social security, keep it as is with lower benefits (since current benefits level not sustainable). If you're under 50 and you want out, you get your 6% back plus the company's 6% back in salary and no social security benefits. Anything you've paid in up til now is a donation. As it is, only a small portion of the country actually comes out ahead from what they put in.

I'm all about this.

If you factor in potential gains on the withheld amount, then we pay about $3 for every dollar we stand to make from SS. Give me that $$ and let me put it into my 401K.

Good plan, but will never work. GW Bush pushed this and the Left came unglued. They felt that if it was optional, then n'er-do-well libtards would of course blow their money on hard liquor and meth and when they hit 65, they would have nothing. You and I would think, well, too bad for you idiots. But the Left loves social programs and getting subjects hooked into the Government handout plantation.

Today, libtards are even worse, more dependent on the Government handouts than ever. They are not smart enough to save money on their own.

It's for sure a pipe dream.

Help me understand that.. SS COLA is 2.5%. If your SS is $2000/month this year, your increase is $50/month for 2025 and medicare part B is going up $10/month in 2025

Well, look at the bright side... They could announce tomorrow that SS is bankrupt and they're ditching the program altogether... SS was set up as supplement to your other income. It was never intended as an only source of retirement income... Dan

I`m just glad I get any social security $$ at all. I always thought it would go bankrupt before I got a dime. Living the dream.
