Depends on which way the wind is coming from, west is meat packing houses and feed yards. East is oil refinery. Either way people says that's the smell of money.

We lived in Panama City, Florida for almost 3 years 1977 to 1980. I still can smell that paper mill. Port St. Joe paper company I think it was. That is a very pungent odor. Couldn't say anything bad about it to the locals, that mill was their bread and butter. But, man did it stink.

My grandad's pipe smell. I can close my eyes and still get a whiff of it 60 years later.

If the wind is from the north , Borger smells like butyl mercaptan. I would not recommend it for a candle.

The smell of greasewood after a rain in far west Texas. All the dust is settled, and everything smells clean and fresh.
