Not A Bad Looking Ultra-Light Reel For Only $20! Will Target Shoreline Baitfish in Hawaii.
Yes! I purchased this 1K spinning reel for mainly procuring baitfish along the shorelines so don't need a beefy expensive reel or thicker strong line as well. It's only for procuring bait. I've been doing this for awhile using 4lb monofilament line. I'm in the process of refining this by using light thinner diameter 3lb braid/mono & and even lighter pound test of line for fluorocarbon shock leaders (going from 4lb to 3lb). These are expensive modifications! Originally i was using 4lb mono mainline w/4lb fluoro leaders which was working well on my 8'6" UL Celilo Rod.
The 150yd of 3lb nanobraid mainline costed me more than the reel itself! And with the equally expensive 3lb fluoro shock leader wasn't a cheap combination. I've done this before using 4lb & outdid everyone around me for procuring baitfish. Only seems natural to go just a step further. And my new 11ft UL rod arrives soon from Japan. It was the last one & got it much cheaper as well. The shipping is where they get you. Also have a new Shimano UL spinner from Shimano USA coming in next week as well with more fluoro shock leaders & nanobraid mainline.
I could've purchased my Stella w/plugging rig instead of investing in UL rods & reels instead of doing this "requested" project. But it looks like i need new wheels so that must be #1 before the holidays. And while doing this i found out my mom passed away. So for now my priorities have changed a bit. Thanks everyone & God bless you for the holidays.
