Will Show How I Spooled My 6lb Mono On & Figured Out Attaching A 35mm Gomexus Power Knob!
For the line i went with Soft Steel's 6lb monofilament line. Just this morning (11-8-24) it was officially announced that Mr Dennis Triana's 10lb Bonefish caught off Honolulu, HI on 6lb monofilament line is the new record holder for 6lb line on O'io! Congratulations to Mr Triana! The reel is my new Okuma Inspira ISX-3000HA. For mono its rating is 240yd for 6lb and 200yd for 8lb.
Shows with proper finesse & experience that you can catch decent sized fish on lighter line! My planned usage is to have fun catching Jacks to Bonefish off the flats using my Okuma Inspira 3K filled with 6lb Soft Steel monofilament line on my 11ft UL Daiwa Spinning Rod.
Then i'll be adding on a Gomexus 35mm Power Knob meant for Daiwa & Shimano reels to my Okuma Inspira 3000. I've proven to Gomexus, Shimano, & Daiwa years ago that if the attachment threads or smoothed side counts match-up that these pre-recommended branded accessories will fit Okuma products providing that the handle connection (ie threaded to smooth sided handle stems) are the same "type".
Meaning threaded to threaded & 5-sided to 5-sided for example. Since i have big hands i don't like "fiddling" with small sized gear. Like skinny septon knobs. This was my 2nd attempt to modify a reel under 4000 with a Power Knob. My 1st was on a reel under a 4K that had a septon style knob. That's when i realized i need to see a pic of what i'm purchasing first to be sure that the reel has a T-bar styled handle instead as they work for what i intend.
I was able to spool on a lot of 6lb mono on my 3K spinner that's rated for 240yd of 6lb mono.
