I like turkey okay and it is a lean source of protein. I am okay with the full T-Day spread but would not want that more than a couple times per year at most. I am fine with turkey sandwiches pretty much daily.

We will have smoked turkey, ham, steaks, and shrimp. Multiple traditional sides, homemade rolls, and pecan and key lime pie with plates of cookies. My wife and I do all the cooking and will have 3 of our kids with spouses and nine grandkids here to tear it all up. It takes us days cook it and about an hour or so to eat it all. Lotta work and worth every minute.

We'll be eating turkey... But I don't get the leftover craze... Dan

Wild turkey is excellent.
What modern farming (antibiotics, corn feed, keep them in a tiny space, genetic breeding) has done to consumer grade chicken and turkey is an abomination. We have molded and bred tasteless large breasted birds with an excess of bland white meat.

Who agrees with me? We just had a change in plans for Thanksgiving and will be having a roasted chicken. We do fried turkey once a year which is ok, I’m not handling the cooking this year so I’m kinda concerned what we’ll get. Down at the coast a couple of years ago we had a couple of wonderful Ribeye’s that I thought was a pretty good tradition starter or just do fajitas!

I’ll take dry tasteless turkey any day over having to spend my holidays in Del Rio. Only positive is I don’t have to cook.

Never been a turkey fan. Finally talked my wife into discontinuing it on our Thanksgiving meal. Even gave our free one away last 2 years. Just not enough juice for the squeeze.
