are you guys experiencing lake turnover? i was on a local DFW area lake with a friend 2 days ago and saw bubbles coming to the surface. it was a clear bluebird sky the day after rain and cold front. fishing was extremely slow... just wandering if have seen the same. Thanks for your replies.

Nitrification happens on all lakes sometimes weeks apart in the same region.Water depth, clarity, temperature and flow contribute to lake turnover...........the rate and date in which a lake turns over is controlled by many factors, the most common mentioned above. My experience has been slow fishing during turnover with normal conditions returning 7-10 days post turnover.

I am a little farther west but yes this last 3-4 weeks our lakes have completed the turnover process.

Good luck

PK on Sunday , lake is muddy from Costello Pass north ! Stained from that point south. Lots of bait in 20 FOW very few fish marked .

The sad part of this is the large amount of dead shad in the waters just North of Costello Pass around The iron bridge and chimney slough. The shad found had been dead for some time as the stinch was intense.
