Right after 9/11. I was one of MP's at the west gate. They had a mounted 249 SAW on the humvee. MP manning it.
They had the ammo belt laid on the tray. You know, for show. Well, that MP ended up squeezing a burst of rounds in the direction of Cop Cove.
Policy change. You can sit the ammo can on the roof. But you can't have the belt out.
Never heard anything else about it. Guess it didn't hit anybody's house, children, or dog.

Stationed at Hurlburt Field for 5 years. 105s and 40s every night was nothing compared to the night they dropped a MOAB out the back of a Talon 1.
Another 16 at Robins AFB. Depot for F-15s so get to listen to them go supersonic during their FCFs. That’s LOUD

Grew up in Troy, Tx listening to it and shaking our house. Never got used to it, but thought it was cool.
