As a kid I was attacked and bitten on the hip by a greyhound while riding my bike down the street. My sister was bitten on the breast by a German Shepherd. I'm not talking about a nip, either. Both dogs sank fangs into us. Before I was born my dad had a Doberman that started to attack my older brother. My dad jumped in to save him and the dog bit him. I think it's safe to say a full grown German Shepherd or Doberman could kill a child or an old lady. Two could for sure.

my pit mix zero Does your homeowners policy know you have a pit? i don't know do they know my neighbor has a blue heeler that has bit 5 people? did any of them die? blue heeler's need training to be good dogs. They are very smart and very loyal and they will absolutely bite if they are defending you are their domain whether the house or vehicle. I would say most people bitten by Blue Heeler are nipped on lower legs they will herd people like cattle. I have mine train she will act right around people but she isn’t afraid of nothing. a big dog would take her down if they get to her before I get my CCW out to fix the problem, of another dog attacking my dog. She is on a lease 90% of the time. The blue heelers don't like other dogs much they dog herd up that I have seen. Pit's will herd up and attack. My biggest problem with pit's you just never know went its going off and attacking. no rhyme or reason to pit's and some other breeds.

Pits were bread to attack the face and hold and chomp. That’s why their attacks are so fatal. Hard to compare other breeds as they weren’t bread for the same type of attack. They can be sweet as cherry pie but if they turn is just very likely the head, neck and face will be involved which increases lethality exponentially.

I guess I just don’t understand some folk’s fascination with the breed when it is well documented that they are unpredictable and can be deadly. What’s wrong with the other hundreds of dog breeds that do not have those tendencies? Why put yourself and family at unnecessary risk? it's a macho thing. You're a great big guy right?? you own a pit right? I own 2...and a Labrador that raised them.... so, yeah, you are a great big guy...I can tell

Pit bulls represent approximately 6% of the dog population in the USA yet nearly 70% of human fatalities. You may not believe the math, but it is still true. Death by weenie dog is rare Black men represent 5.7% of the US population, yet are responsible for 50% of violent crimes....crazy huh?

I had a co-worker that owned two pit bulls , they got along for years . Never had an issue . For some unknown reason , one day they started going at it in the dining room --- nothing could stop them for almost 30 minutes --- the only reason her husband got them apart was they eventually got tired . The entire room was covered in blood . All three of her kids were home , including a one year old . The bigger of the two got the worst of it . The husband took them both out to the country and put a bullet in their heads
