The "pit" bite and power is second only to their instinct to attack.

All breeds can inhale the predator mentality, but when a pit does, it's ferocious.

"They are such sweet puppies, I love mine, he/she wouldn't hurt anyone" is very simplistic for owners, and I can see how it happens.

When you love your family pet, especially from a puppy, your heart becomes warm and "indifferent to the possibility that your dog could hurt someone," but they can.
All dogs can bite, but those pits, they are deadly, especially if there is an attack of at least '2!

I think about 90 percent of the people who own them aren't fit too.

Pit bulls represent approximately 6% of the dog population in the USA yet nearly 70% of human fatalities. You may not believe the math, but it is still true.

the bad part of pits are nearly all dogs have a herd mentality. That is very dangerous because of their bite force and aggressive personalities when provoked or someone runs from them.

I don't like the breed even tho I know they are not all aggressive, before they killed someone or bit a child

I've had a couple. Been around another two that were monsters of a dog. Riddled with muscle.

They used to be called nanny dogs. Ex-wife had one as a child. What you do is buy a puppy and you have it sleep along the children. It stays in their room. Everywhere the child goes so does the dog.

That way, you can let your little girls walk around and not have to worry. A pitbull isn't going to allow anything to happen to the children. It'll kill itself before it gives up.

But not in 2024. We can't have that. Because a bunch of gang bangers use the breed as a weapon. Or fighting dog. They breed aggressive stupid dogs that have to be shot on sight.

My experience with the breed. It's a meathead. An absolute baby of a dog. A real lug head.

I owned one for years. I never rough housed with him. He was a lap dog and lived inside.

I want to see a side-by-side study of the number of people maimed or killed by pit bulls alongside cell phones, specifically drivers who can't or won't put them down.

Pit bulls have a place and can be very docile and loving. You need to work them and keep them active as that's what their breed is known for. I've known many pits that are the biggest teddy bears, but they didn't start that way when you first meet them. After you get to know them and show that you are not a threat, they melt.

I've known one pit that made the mistake of nipping at a toddler. The toddler pulled his ear and decided to try and climb it. Mistakes were made and the pit was removed from the home. That same pit went to a home without kids and other pets. Lived a very long and healthy life.

I know there are a ton of bad stories about them, which is why they are so feared. They can be a vicious creature when pushed and can snap given the right circumstances. Just saying, not all are bad, and not all are lap dogs.

the reason people don't like the breed is your comment above, They can snap under the right circumstances. You just never know when that may be and you don't want your wife or kids around them when they do.

If you get a puppy. It's strongly suggested you meet the parents. Both Bitch and Basturd'. You should be able to pet both. Even momma dog with puppies. But it takes an understanding soul to have the guts to try and pet momma. Some people can. Some can't. I can't. No way am I sticking fingers in there and grabbing a puppy.

She needs to be away from the puppies. Either by herself or with daddy. Then you should be able to freely pet both with no aggression.

After they warm up to you. Tug an ear. Grab their tail. Rub them all over. Especially their forehead. Going easy. Another some people can or can't. I can.

Just keep it in your head. You're still a stranger to them.

Gatesville has a reputation for breeding some excellent samples of the breed. Huge dogs. Beautiful dogs with velvet hair.

I guess I just don’t understand some folk’s fascination with the breed when it is well documented that they are unpredictable and can be deadly. What’s wrong with the other hundreds of dog breeds that do not have those tendencies? Why put yourself and family at unnecessary risk?

Why have a fast car when there's a speed limit?

Documented? By whom? Are they taking DNA samples of these dogs or or they calling every mutt bite a pitbull?
