Retiring soon and was thinking of buying a Solix 10 as my retirement gift. Then someone mentioned Hummingbird was coming out with a new Xplore model. I currently run a Gen2 Helix 9. Buy the Solix or wait on the Xplore? I fish for trophy catfish if that helps in the decision.

Theres a thread about it over on BBC. A few details and a lot of speculation. Supposedly after its released Humminbird is going to discontinue the Helix and Solix line, if so I see the rebates coming back to clear inventory. This will leaving the Apex and Xplore in the lineup. If that's the case, then the Apex will have more features and still cost more $$$. No idea on pricing of it yet either.

Really don't see any difference between the Solix and Xplore with the exception of transducer (no 800hz) and no 15" screen size model.

The above link has the 9, 10, and 12" models priced at $2110, $2902, and $3588. This is converting Euros to Dollars. If I can find a decent price on a Solix 10 with rebates, I'll probably go with that one.

Those Euro prices include VAT which is about 15%. Subtract that and they are close to current lineup.

YT videos are starting to come out on the new Xplore unit. You have to have it if you want to use Mega Live 2. It will have the same screen resolution as a Solix.
