My dad swore by his Troybilt Pony model. Used it for many years. Not sure if it is a current model, but it was a workhorse for him.

I have 15yr old Troy Built Rear Tine that has been great. I’ve replaced the belt only once a few years ago. Definitely only buy a Rear Tine. I think maintenance is the most important thing since it’s used very little. I only use mine twice a year in Spring and then again in the fall. I only use non ethanol gas and drain it in the fall and change the oil before I use it in the spring. I check the air filter after every use since they are cheap and can get dirty easy if it’s dusty and dry while tilling.

Ha. My 2 rear tine tillers are a 1985 Troy Bilt Horse model and a 1969 Ariens Rocket IV. Both run and work. Only thing is the Ariens has an old Tecumseh engine and it is kinda chitty.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools

I’ve used the Troy built horse. That is fantastic. That’s my mom’s titller. I bought a smaller Troy built and I don’t recall the Name, but it is hard to control because it wants to run forward constantly.
