Ordered a pair of Bilsteins yesterday online from AZ. Fair price at $96 each. Next day delivery for $5. Figured they were coming from San Antonio. Nope. Ohio. Here’s the tracking data so far this morning.

Auto zone has a reputation for having cheap hard parts in their stores. but I have to give them credit around here they are by far the friendliest and most helpful of our parts stores. I take them all my old oil, they’ll wheel it back and dump it- at oreillys they meet you around back and you have to dump it your self- good luck not getting any one you..

Oriellys will let you dump your oil…after you wait 30’minutesfor them to open the back door. Lol

Why not just order it from Jegs or Summit?

Status just changed to "Out for delivery." From Ohio to Aransas Pass in 24 hours for five bucks. Not bad for a parts house.

My guess is because Auto Zone had what he needed at the price he liked and could have it delivered the next day. If you like paying more and waiting a week to get what you order, then go right ahead.

I looked for a window motor from my Autozone that is in walking distance. To my surprise they don't carry stuff like that.

Its getting where I can find more stuff on Amazon than a parts store, with better prices to boot.

That's true in some cases. We have a locally owned place here that I go to on occasion. It's an old school parts house. One like I used to work in back in the day. I like going there. They have boat trailer stuff. I looked on Amazon for the bilsteins and they had them but were $20 per shock higher in price. I didn't look at delivery. The price difference had me walk away. Also the return issue. Autozone's deal is scan the code to return and take it to the nearest store. You can't do that with Amazon. My closest return place for Amazon on things too big for the drop box is in Corpus and a 30 minute drive.

I love Rock Auto.

I've used Rock Auto a few times, and I looked there too. The price with shipping was about the same, but delivery was six days out. Five if I wanted to pay an extra $50.

it's nice to have options. I just ordered some windshield wipers. got 2 delivered for the price of one at oreilly.

I don't really like Auto Zone or O'reilly's but I have to buy some stuff there.

Parts stores used to have guys that knew something about cars and trucks.
