I retire at the end of this year. I'm going to buy myself a Solix 12 as my retirement gift on Black Friday. Where are the places to order from that will have the best prices?

I'm not sure where the best prices are right now, but I'll say to be sure and have a dedicated battery. Those Solix use some juice.

May want to hold off for a little bit. With the new Xplore series coming out its Rumored the Helix and Solix will be going away leaving the Apex and Xplore series.

I switched over to garmin. might Wana go into bassproshops and check them out. u get more for your money, half the price. all their screens are touch screen, think the 12.6 screens bundle with transducer is 1500.

Personally I would hold off purchasing right now.
The usual places have $1-200 off of units retailing at $2,000, not much of a discount and nothing really standing out as a Black Friday deal. If you can wait till around the new year and new models being released, you can typically get 30-50% off the previous models.
I shopped my Lowrance unit that way, and managed to snag a $1,000 unit for under $600, and have been very happy with my purchase.

I saw a Garmin on my buddies boat when we fished Texoma last month. I was impressed with how it marked those catfish. The reason for staying with Hummingbird is because I want to link my Ulterra to the graph.
