A few decades ago I tied these flies. Each fly is tied from the feathers of a different duck species. Since fall is here, I thought some of you might enjoy figuring out the duck species that each fly was created with. Some are easy, but some may be harder. All the ducks were collected in central Texas. I will try to watch the thread and confirm the results. Enjoy!

Thanks for all who have commented so far! The solution has been added to the bottom of the post.

Thank you for the offer. I have several family members fighting over it, so I donโ€™t think I will sell it. roflmao

Top Left - Green Winged-teal. Good call and Congratulations!

Bottom Left is not a mallard.

Bottom Left is the only one remaining. It is a common duck in Texas, but definitely the most difficult to identify from the fly. popcorn

Wow! I was already impressed with all your state fishing records. You are setting a very high bar indeed! Well done.
