hey all,
I was recently impacted after the acquiring company said no lay offs and sure enough, my entire team was impacted. After looking on LinkedIn it just seems that site is full of bots and scripts that want to obtain resumes and automated replies.
A little about me.
I have 28 years experience in IT. Mainly on the infrastructure side of things, but this gig that laid me off was a cyber security firm. I have been on the Sales side of the house for 6 years now, so doing Account Management, Technical Account Management, sales is not a problem for me at all. There is not much I have not done. From hands on the key board coding to creating complex forecast models for pre-sales engineering and revenue projections. I have even done product management. I have been Sr. Director level for years, running global IT operations, complex networks, virtualization experience with VMware, Citrix, Microsoft and Linux/OpenStack. I have managed teams globally, from India to Europe and Israel, to all across the US. I also possess several professional certifications, such as PMP, ITIL, CISSP, and the list goes on.
I am seeking remote work, but I am willing to move if there is an in office demand.
If you guys know of anyone needing a professional in the IT world, please let hit me up. A career change is also something I am considering or rather an industry change. I do not want to go on unemployment. That is just not my thing. Much rather work for what I get. Appreciate the help.
Regards, Mo

Something most IT professionals don't think of is schools.. Try some of the school districts in your area.

Good luck and more Mo- Kudos to you for turning over all stones-
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Plenty of recruiters would want to shop your resume.

Mo,
Sorry this happened. I'll keep an ear out for you. I would certainly look into a local recruiter. I've heard nothing but good things on they work they provide. Best of luck.

You might look at FedEx Corporation. I know they are somewhat expanding and they have a large IT department...Just a thought!

Something most IT professionals don't think of is schools.. Try some of the school districts in your area. Yeah, TCU is hiring a network engineer. It pays around $95,000/year I believe. Not remote work, but they have great benefits. Community colleges and private universities tend to pay better than state schools. Higheredjobs.com is a great resource to look for a job at higher ed institutions. I wish you well.
