Surface water temperature 75 degrees. Water clarity is still extremely good for East Galveston Bay. We have experienced some stronger North / Northeast winds this past week, limiting us to fishing back in the marsh and back lakes most of the time, as well as the better protected shorelines of the intracoastal. We have fished Flats with scattered shell in areas with good tide movement, and bait present, resulting in good numbers of trout. The Redfish have still been around grass lines where nervous bait is close by. Imitation Shrimp lures under popping corks with 12” leaders have still been producing very well for our anglers, as well as Gulp Shrimp, resulting in success on our chartered trips. We have also fished 1/8 oz jig heads with Wac Attack and Deadly Dudley tails in lighter colors, as well as swimbait hooks with tails when fishing flooded grass. Still looking forward to a nice cold front to get the water temperatures to dip, but overall fishing has still been solid. The crowds have thinned, so grab your friends and family and get out and enjoy God’s beauty in the great state of Texas.
