I may like them. Now that I am 70 my jeans slide down since my azz moved into my belly area. Or my belly area got so big. I dunno, but I either may need suspenders or overalls.
What is a good brand name.

I got the brown canvas material and the stiff denim. Both are Dickies brand.
The brown are really nice. So are the stiff denim. I returned the stone wash. They're way too soft and the legs look like floppy hippy pants.
Inseam is something you need to experience. Wearing overalls and your nuts are free to wobble. Because you're not snuggling up them to your nads. So if you order some. Subtract 2-4" off your regular inseam and prepare to have to roll the legs up so they don't end up dragging under your heels.
Absolutely one of the most comfortable garments you can wear. I love mine.

Local fishing spot has a trail full of prickly pear cactus. Small sprouts that hover about 6" to a foot off the ground. Hidden by weeds. It's a mine field walking out there before sun rise.
That's when you appreciate high top boots and thick pants.
Another thing about overalls. You can carry more weight in your pockets cause the all the weight is on the shoulder straps.

I wear them during the colder months and when I know I'm gonna get filthy doing truck maintenance. Like said above, the most comfy thing you'll wear. I have 4 pair, but the most comfy ones I wear are the zip up with elastic suspenders. The elastic suspenders don't go loose no matter what activity I'm doing. The other denim ones, when you sit the straps go loose and fall off your shoulders. Also, the elastic ones have a giant zipper from crotch to chest so you can pretty much step into them, zip up and you're done for the day. Easy to get in and out of for emergency bathroom breaks. As comfy as wearing PJ's I suppose. Big BIll Men's Hickory Overalls

In blue jeans I wear a 35x32. I tried the same in overalls and I have to roll up the legs two inches. Getting it perfect. Stops where my heel begins with the right amount of crease in front.
Because of the bib, I can wear colors I usually wouldn't. Like baby blue or bright red. The bib really tones down wild colors.

They were popular with the yutes 1977, 1988, and again in 1997ā¦..overdue for a resurgence.
Lots of pockets for keys, cell phone, wallet, ear buds, digital code keysā¦.might be the perfect modern attire.

The whole overall shorts were a "thing" and I had to have some. That's when I got my very first credit card, Dillards. I wore those back then too. Oh the memories.

The stiff denim ran me $45. The brown canvas was $50.
I've wore overalls off and on most my life. Always been Dickies. I was given some for Christmas about three years back. Craftsman brand like the tools and they're garbage. The shoulder straps on the Dickies is sewn in a panel. You're not going to rip a seam putting them on. These craftsman brand, the straps are sewn butt to butt with the back bib and that's where it tore.
Another old school brand is Liberty.

Do they still make bib overalls but with shorts? From some of the pictures I've seen while looking for hump day pics, that would be an affirmative. Can't post those though.

I have a couple of pairs of insulated bib overalls for cold weather fishing, I much prefer them to the full coveralls, I find them too warm Have not worn a pair of denim overalls in the last 40 years. I went to pharmacy school with a fellow that worn them every day when not in class. He worn them Oklahoma style , no shirt , only one strap buttoned. MO

This has got to be a cultural thing.
Ironed overalls, clean boots, nice watch, nice shirt, with matching ball cap. That's dressed up for me. Any higher and I'm pulling my tan colored Wranglers out. Shoe polish on the boots. Dress shirt.
I even hang my overalls up.

I also wear a cowboy hat when I'm not wearing a ball cap. But usually just in summer so most my hats are straw. My felt hat disappeared. It was in silver. One those $1000 ones ( I bought it from another guy and didn't pay a grand. Brand new in the box. Hard times.) Heck, A nice ball cap is $30.

Carhartt isn't the same as it was. I just experienced one of their insulated vests.
It's nothing like they use to be made. How incredibly sad.

I even hang my overalls up. Yes sir, same for my hometown. Only the cap was a seed cap. Anything else was unacceptable. Most wore a pair of redwings or something similar and after 10:00 am coffee at the local cafe, everyone walked around with at least one leg caught in the top of their boots. Good times.

Since losing weight I've had to replace every-thing I have to include cold weather stuff. I'm finding out most of it has turned cheap. I'm currently shopping for a pullover, 1/4 zip, hoodie. Looking at Under Armour. But I'm scared I'm going to regret and I'm tired of going to the UPS store. I'll slow down and will walk through the sections of Academy I usually don't visit. See what's up with the higher dollar stuff. There's a Cavender's in town. Ill see what's up there too. I don't believe it's going to be a very cold winter so a nice hoodie should do it.

Skip all that and just go to Kohls. You might be surprised. You can get a nice wardrobe for cheap

I'm willing to pony up for something nice. Something I can keep for years.
I'm willing to do $50-$150. With nothing over $200.
(The clothes are an award for losing the weight. I want nice stuff. I still have things I can change the oil in the car in.)

Proper etiquette requires bib overalls to be worn bass-akwards. Buck Owens in the old Hee-Haw shows is a good example.

I have been convinced to buy a pair of denim biballs. Thinking about sporting them at the club tourney this weekend.

I have two pair of them, this thread made me wear them to work today. Being in the pipe fitters trade lots of Bib Overalls going on here. Dickies for the win.
