I got perfect grill marks on my left leg from riding my motorcycle when I was 4 yrs old in nothing but shorts. I crashed and the cylinder head landed on my leg. LOL! I have those as well! I can still smell the burning smell of hair when I think about it Was getting off dad’s bike as a wee lad and just as he was warning me about the pipes I got branded . Dad freaked and tried to get me to quit squealing so loud when mom came out and chewed his [censored] out . Good times Still not as painful as hitting your shin on a trailer hitch.

Grill Grates are great for a propane or gas grill. They leave a nice slightly wider mark. Rotate a steak 90 degrees on the flip and you will have a steak with nice grill marks on it.
Add me to the list of motor cycle burns. Pretty good one when I was about 17 or so on the inside right calf and thigh. Varicose veins there now. If I remember correctly it was a Yamaha DT125. Ny dad sold cars. I was working at the dealership in the summer. A guy came in wanting a new car but needed a down payment. He had the DT 125 which was like new. I gave him $750 for it. I sold it years later for the same amount, brought it back for $400, and sold it again for $750.

You should never clean the grill grates... Treat them like a cast iron skillet... At most just lightly brush them with a wire brush before throwing the meat on... Dan

From this thread, I have come to the realization you can spank chicken breasts on motor cycle mufflers and get grill marks.
Who knew? This place is amazing.
