You can catch them on live threadfin shad. I catch them on 1/2 oz Panther Martin spinners, BoBlades, and Mepps #4 spinners. Some use soft plastics fished individually or on an A-rig. My fishing partner caught a 27-inch hybrid last week on the Panther Martin.

On Buchanan you can catch them on shad ( I prefer gizzard but sometimes the fish prefer threads) . Here pretty soon once it starts cooling off the schooling should start. Pencil Poppers would be my choice. Lot of people use jigging spoons, myself included. I have never tried his method but its obvious Dennis' in-line spinner method works.

Boblades and Arigs work best for me. If I am targeting Hybrids, I jump up to a 2 ounce Boblade. Big baits equal big fish.
