I am on my 2nd ( regular) Minn Kota ultrex. I'm thinking about going to the Lowrance Ghost brushless. Who's using the Lowrance Ghost brushless on their boat? Any regrets? Is hard to beat the ultrex! I hear good things about the Garmin force, but I really don't care for the foot pedal.
Thanks in advance for any input! Good, bad, or ugly

Let me ask a few questions:
1) What electronics are you using on your boat? 2) What are your plans for the use of the TM? 3) Ultrex Quest is now available, if you're familiar with the Ultrex, it's an easier switch I would guess???
I have all Lowrance electronics on my boat, when I'm ready to upgrade my Ultrex, I will be going to a Ghost. Reasoning, it interfaces with Lowrance for trails, waypoints, sonar, etc.

FFS makes a transducer on a trolling motor a moot point. Of all the new brushless models on the market I think the Lowrance would be the last pick for me personally.

Not a scoper, so that doesn't help me. Didn't think of that fact. Good point.

My new Blazer came with a Lowrance Ghost so figured I'd try it. It took all of 30 seconds for me to start cursing.
Extremely loud robot noise will drive you crazy. Foot pedal does not compare to Ultrex. Arrow indicator lags terribly and will not work for FFS unless you modify it with the $300 arrow aftermarket.
I had the dealer take it off and swap it with an Ultrex when I got off the water.

I’ve had all 3. The ghost and force are considerably more powerful and reduce battery use over ultrex. The pedal on both takes 5 min to get used to. Both pedals feel same to me. Pick one based on electronics

I have a Ghost as well and I really like it, very easy to deploy, you can run 24 or 36 volts, so you don't have to buy another TM if you decide to go up or down in batteries/volts. It gives you options depending on the size of your boat. RIght now I have a 36 volt with 3 AGM TM batteries and I know I will have to replace batteries soon and I'm considering just purchasing two lithiums (save $ and weight) and trying it out and if I don't like it I can always add another battery. With the older Ultrex you couldn't do that, not sure about the new Quest. Also, on the Ghost, I like that you can move the push button on the foot pedal to the right or left depending on what foot you use to run your TM. Another good option.
I went from a non spot lock Motorguide Digital Tour 36 volt, so a big improvement. Hope this info helps. I never had an Ultrex, so I can't compare.

I'm on my 3rd Ghost. I absolutely hate it. I'll never ever ever ever tell anyone to buy a Lowrance product again. Lowrance can go bankrupt for all I care.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Honestly, if you liked your Ultrex's then consider the Quest. My old Ultrex was 6 years old and took a heck of a beating. Looked at all the new ones, even the Power Pole Move and settled on the Quest. I've had it a year now and its leaps and bounds better then the old Ultrex.

Half the time I browse this forum without logging in since I can never remember my password... I took the time to figure it out and login to respond to this. IMO the Lowrance Ghost is the biggest piece of junk on the market. Long story short, I had 3 of them break on me while under warranty. Not from hitting it against anything, just problems with the circuit boards in the head, the pedal, and one time water somehow got into the head of it. The technician at Texas Boat World was awesome in getting me fixed up, but when I dropped it off he had like 6 of the Ghosts on his bench waiting on parts... he said he repairs a lot of them.
I sold the last one Lowrance sent me under warranty and went with the Ultrex Quest. Super happy with it and it's a lot beefier than the old Ultrex. I have a live scope transducer, a 360 transducer, and a hydrowave mounted to it and it handles the weight of them fine with the bigger bushings and double gas strut. P.S. I have no affiliation with MinnKota. I've got a friend who recently opened a new boat/ electronics shop outside Austin. Shoot me a message if you decided on a Quest and want a good price.

Match it to your electronics to take full advantage of the interface features.
