I will tell you, the 9 and 10 are the same size as far as the housing. If you have a map chip with a standard SD card size, the 9 and newer 10's have micro SD cards, I learned that pretty quick. I understand you want to downsize, but the 9 vs the 12 is a huge difference in screen size. Good luck!

I know, have a 9 on front of boat . this is a little ZX 190 that I am fixing up. Yes I have big map cards. I have micro cards., Been around the block a few times with graphs. This is an opportunity for someone to get in a 12 inch graph for not a lot of money.

The Helix 9 and 10 are the same physical size in the first and second generation models and have SD readers.
The Helix 8 and 9 are the same physical size in the third and fourth generation models and have microSD readers.
All generations of Helix 10 have SD readers.

There is no "MEGA unit". MEGA is a not a thing, it is a function.
MEGA stands for MEGAHERTZ which is a sound frequency range that Humminbird uses for Side Imaging, Down Imaging, 360, and LIVE.

The unit that is the topic of this thread has three frequency range choices for Side Imaging, and Down Imaging.
455 kHz (KiloHertz), 800 kHz (KiloHertz), and 1.2 MHz (MEGAHERTZ) or 1200 kHz.
Since it is a third generation Helix, it is compatible with the MEGA 360 and MEGA LIVE accessories.
