I’ve never used anything on plastic baits but my son uses it and catches 5 bass to my 1. Are there any conditions that would dictate a specific color?

Orange or red during early spring and chartreuse the rest of the year.

In areas where fish feed on blue crab that some will use the blue.

I use JJ' chartreuse mostly now. I haven't had a bite on orange / red dipped baits in years.

I use orange, red, yellow and blue. I have the spray and pens. Springtime I don't fish without the red.

chartreuse has always been my #1 I have tried the others and had small or no results and I find that using only the smallest amount on my baits works best like just tipping the tail of a worm or claw .

I pretty well stick with chartreuse if I use any at all. Is he using the garlic scented version. That could sleep be a reason he is getting a few more bites. The scent might be masking scent from his hands etc.

I have always used the Chartreause Garlic dipndye through the years but after wind splattered spots alll over my partners Ranger and dumping a whole bottle of it on my Bass Cat console I finally started buying the pens and use them now. For scent I am still one of the old school guys that uses Smelly Jelly Crawfish Anise.
