The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our Ninth Annual Fish For A Cure Bass Tournament last Sunday October 27th on Lake Ray Hubbard. All proceeds from the event are donated to the American Cancer Society. It was a strange weather day. We figured the sun would come out and warm things up early but low clouds and fog and a damp wind held on until almost 11:00. From what I heard from the anglers, this helped the fishing which was pretty good. Mother Hubbard has a reputation for being tough when the weather is good but fortune shined on a lot of boats on Sunday because they caught em good! We had 83 boats come out to fish which is a post covid high! Thank you everyone that came out! When weigh in was buttoned up, the team of Keith Taylor and Chadd Dearen came out on top with a monster bag of 24.40 pounds! Big Bass went to the team of Hector De La Garza and Chad Grace who had an 8.63 monster. Here are full results and pictures. I'll name everyone I can but the nice part of having so many fishing is I just don't know everyone!

It takes a dedicated fisherman to look at this face that early in the day and still hand your money over

[Linked Image]

They got full as weigh in wore on

[Linked Image]

The first team to weigh in was Cameron Laing and Patrick Sharp. They blew their motor on the way to their first stop and dropped the trolling motor and fished their way back and weighed 15.28

That’s a nice picture of my Tundra and empty trailer. Too bad we wound up out in the field after we loaded up. I enjoyed parking 50 ft from the ramp. roflmao

We had a great time. See y’all next year.

If my motor had blown on any other day, I probably would've just called it a day and quit. I'm so glad we decided to fish our way back. We caught so many fish and had a great time, in an area we probably never would've fished otherwise. I guess my motor knew the right place to die that day. 🤣🤣🤣

One of the neatest things about Fish for a Cure is the chance to catch up with a lot of old friends at this tournament. It's so great to see this local community come together and make this such a great event every year and I feel lucky to be a part of it and want to thank all of the sponsors and donators.

Rick - You know I'm a big fishing nerd from our time fishing together and always checked out tournament results and kept up with all of the tournament trails. I helped take a lot of those pictures and there's nobody better at posting results monthly in the club and especially for this great event like this than Tom.
