My wife and I go to garage and estate sales for fun. I always ask if they have fishing equipment. The normal answer is that was the first thing to go. But, if you ask they will often produce some interesting items. My wife saw this old Woodriver fly bag setting on the side of a driveway. It was completely covered in spider webs and dust. My wife asked how much and the lady said the bag was full of stuff, but they were not going to open it. She wanted a dollar. My wife said great, my husband needs a birthday present. The condition was so bad that I didn’t even look all through it. I just covered it in a trash bag and took it home. Most of the time these purchases don’t pan out, but this was a great one. There were 150 flies, spinners, a reel, leader, a metal fly box, and other assorted items. Always ask.

For sure! I have things left on my porch by local garage-sale-ing friends every so often. And these things actually come from family who finds or gets it handed to them TOO.
