"The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) stocks trout at six seasonal fishing areas each year, starting on November 1 and continuing until March or April. However, the 2024 trout stocking season has been delayed until December 1 due to higher-than-normal water temperatures. The two year-round trout fisheries at the Lower Mountain Fork River and the Lower Illinois River will not be affected by the delay."

Hopefully the Texas trout stocking will not be affected. Looking at the drought map of Texas it doesn't look to good so far.

Interesting^ that the stocked fish average cost is $7 per lb. So theoretically each 1 lb fish they stock costs 7 bucks. One could make the case for more strict length limits and enforcement on the LMF.

The State of Oklahoma must have some serious funds to burn Is My Opinion on that topic. I would wonder what the cost is for TPWD per pound? Of course it takes a LOT of those little truts to make a Texas pound.

If you’re talking about the rumors about cuts being the reason the c&r/delayed harvest not being stocked this isn’t the reason. It’s stocked with a separate load that’s larger just for that area and is usually only stocked twice per season if I remember correctly.

I wonder if that will be the case this year? One thing seems to be consistent with this topic now - inconsistency.
