The crappie are moving shallow. I hit the kids park dock for 45 minutes and caught 5 with the one in the pic right at 14" 2 were 12" 2 were 10" . All cught sitting on walkway flipping to out deck. 5-6 ft of water, all on char/black plastic on 1/16 ox head with nibble. It is the 1st fish i caught there in 5 months. Let them all go in hopes of hooking them again. Over the years I lived here i Caught 98 % of my fish off this one dock. No brush, gentle drop from the bank to end of dock at full pool 6.5 Ft. The thump felt great. Usually a majority are white crappie but today all but 1 were black. If the crowd does not come around I will try tomorrow. Best times in the past are mid day with most shade. The winter months has a different sun angle so a shorter window.

A friend of mine had a house out there for several years and they sold it to another friend of mine. I have fished that lake a ton and it’s a fun lake. Back when the lake had hydrilla and Lilly pads in it we caught tons of 5-6 pound bass with the biggest we caught was 8.3#. His dad put several brush piles around their dock and we would wear the crappie and giant copper nose bluegills out. I miss that lake.

Blue ,you had the glory years. A woman put in 1500 grass carp AND poisoned the vegetation.I have been here 10 years and there is not 1 piece of any kind of Vegetation. My friends still catch some nice bass tho. My biggest was 23 1/2 " .Caught it with a 4'6" ultra light rof and 1/16 oz crappie jig. It is a decent catfish lake and at times a good crappie lake. If anyone reading knows how to add hydrilla please drop me a note. Its a perfect size for small sailboat too. Although HOA sux and the keep raising dues and not putting 1 cent into fish population

Yes it was a fun lake when it had grass and pads. I probably started going down there about 26-27 years ago. My friends parents sold their house their probably about 5-6 years ago and bought a place on fork.

Crappie fishing is fantastic during the spring on that lake.

Is that lake near or in Tyler ? The name is familiar but I don’t remember exactly where it was.

That’s what I thought, a friend of mine mentioned it once while we were out driving and I think I remember us driving by it. I remember wanting to toss a Rapala or a Lucky 13 in those lily pads. smile
