I have a 2001 225 Mercury EFI. Out of nowhere the tilt/trim motor started making noise like it was trying to lower the engine. I wasn't touching the switch at all. If I held the switch at the helm up, the noise would stop. It will not go down. It does the same thing if you use the switch at the motor or at the front of the boat. Like I said it will go up but not down. I have to think it is a relay. I just don't know where they are. Anyone know where they are?

Look for this under the cowling. Runs around $200.00.

I did exactly that. I ordered a new relay from Amazon and it was delivered today.
