Has anybody here ever used the Dr. Pooper drain line cleaner/acclerator to help clear up your drain field? Ours isn’t real bad unless we get a lot of rain. Anyway I bought some to try and while reading the precautions I nearly lost it. It has the normal don’t get it in your, don’t eat it but the very last thing said Don’t Play in the Street While Using This Product. LMAO

Not saying you wasted your money but you wasted your money. I think the problem is the answer in your post.

What kind of system? Bacteria and enzymes are not going to help saturated drain field in any way, shape or form. Gravity systems are almost 100% maintenance free other than possibly a filter cleaning. They provide plenty of enzymes and bacteria without anything added.

Just an FYI for people that would never know. If you or someone you know, has gone through chemotherapy and lives with a septic tank, you need to get it pumped a while after they finish their treatments. The chemo wipes out everything that’s needed to break down the “poo”.

Over the years of digging. I have replaced more lateral lines than i could possibly count. Folks that used bacteria and enzymes for maintenance, Had very little issues, Most older systems were never properlty installed, and a perk test showed the soil wound not support the system. without many many more feet installed. I seen systems that had to be pumped yearly, Most because of the use of bacteria killing chemicals,

Bruce, Is there a particular additive that you recommend for septic tank systems?

Eat more Mexican food. That will add plenty of bacteria and enzymes!

I seen systems that had to be pumped yearly, Most because of the use of bacteria killing chemicals, When they put the system in on our property they did a perk test and saw that it wouldn't support the leach field. We have the tank and a sand filter on our property, then our leach field is on our neighbors property because of the perk test stuff. Neighbor got hosed on all the easements on his property. He has the leach fields for his and 2 other properties, as well as a 25ft easement on 2 sides of his property for the road and utilities for the 3 of us. Not much of his 2 acres is left after all the easements. LOL
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Do you ever take the lid off the first tank, then go inside to poo and then run back outside real quick to watch it flume on down into the tank? I keep trying but I’m just not fast enough, It’s like getting off the train at one stop and running to the next stop to get back on, it’s a lot harder to do than those YouTubers make it look. Those guys are fast,

When we lived outside Big Spring, it was all pretty much sand. We put in a single 1000 gal tank and double 25 yard lateral lines. They dug a 2 foot wide ditch, 4 foot deep. There was about a 2 foot slope. First they put down 1-1 1/2 rock, then gravel then carpenter sand. Then the put the perforated 4 inch pvc in and cover it with gravel. We never had any trouble with it at all.
