I have two of these 8 year old units on my boat. The one at the bow of the boat seems to have gone out. The sonar works but not the chart/contour lines. The map will sometimes pop up for 30 seconds to a minute when I'm on the trolling motor but not very often. Took it to a shop and they said it is fried and so did Lowrance when I spoke to them. Would it be best to try and find a used unit and just plug and play. I wasnt planning on upgrading my electronics right now with it being hunting season and I just fish weekends. That is in the future but not now. I've searched ebay and the classifieds here and havent found much. Any advice would be appriciated

can you post a pic of what the map is doing? Does this issue apply to internal map and a map card? Are you liked between the 2 network? if yes can you get the Map and GPS source for the one that does work? Have you done a hard reset or factory reset? What have you done to actually diagnose the issue?

I have a navionics chip and the two units are connected. It works at the one in the drivers seat and have tried turning off the power and moving the chip to the bow unit and turning the power back on. Still works at the driver seat but not at the bow.

The power at the unit will also not power off unless i cut the power to the acc/sonar or turn off the power from the battery

2 things to check under data sources where is GPS set to ? If set to this unit meaning itself change it to the other unit. So they share the one that is working. What is the map data set to on the one that does not work, also check the map menu to make sure Contour LInes are turned on. If you save a waypoint on the console does it show up on the bow? If not then that may be why your map does not show up you have a bad cable.

Yes I walked through all that with Lowrance on the phone when I was at boat storage. When I'm on the water using it at the trolling motor it still shows the tracks and my waypoints with the yellow screen and dots.

Have you checked it without the Navionics map card installed ie. base map chart?

Unit may just have bad card reader.

I got on Facetme with Larry Hutchens and can not tell you how much he helped me. We got it working in less than 15 minutes and then proceeded to talk hunting and fishing for the next 45. Great guy and looking forward to using his on the water elctronics class.
