Our two house cats are such wusses. Run from their own shadows.
Nothing like the barn cats. Think the big black one wouldn't hesitate to go face to face with a tiger.

I have 2 barn cats that adopted me. The thing I like about cats is they don't give a [censored].My youngest son has a Maine coon that's awesome.

We adopted a Maine coon who wandered up to our house. He was a giant, an enormous cat who was gentle as he could be. He looked like he was wearing eye liner. Other cats didn't need to let that fool them. There was a tomcat that had ruled the neighborhood for a couple of years (we live in a country subdivision) and had the battle scars to show it. He came face to face with Pepper and I heard sounds come out of Pepper's body I had never heard before. I distracted him by trying to push him back with my foot. He didn't bite me, but he struck the top of my foot like a snake as if to say, "Later, dad, I'm taking care of business now."

The tomcat saw his chance and ran for his life.

We had a huge white part-Persian male who slept in our freestanding garage with Pepper. When it was cold those two huge males would wedge themselves into a tiny little "house" I had made for one cat to stay warm. It was such a a tight fit that the second one in couldn't turn around. He had to sleep facing the back wall. It surprised me how much those two animals loved each other. I would have thought they would be rivals.

My sons Maine coon weighs about 30 pounds and is as gentle as can be. He's a load when he wants to set in your lap.

My cat terrifies my sister's 70 lb pitbull. He will not cross a threshold if he sees her nearby. One day they were visiting and he was desperate to go outside but my cat had camped out in front of the door so he couldn't leave. I had to pick her up and take her to another room.
