Along withe O-line coach who can't protect him.

Yes, but that is a team thing, route running is a me thing.

Negative Ghost rider, every player that's ever rushed a QB from Jr Hi to HS to college to the NFL knows a pass rush is me vs him. Im gonna either kick his [censored] or he's gonna kick my [censored]. Pass pro is 1 on 1 best man wins, no different than a receiver vs a DB. MANO on MANO, beat me if you can.

Yes, I agree, but you didn’t name an O-line postion, you named the “O-line”. A wide receiver route is strictly a one person thing. That was my understanding of the post anyway and why I responded as such. I apologize if I was mistaken.

Troy said the receivers and O-line, not me. I was just posting what Troy said, that was all his opinion not mine.

They are wasting Vaughn. He’s the only back they have that can break away.
I guess Schottenheimer and Mike are satisfied with Zeke’s two yards a carry performance. I like Rico a lot but Vaughn can out perform both of them.

Deuce is too little, other teams can arm tackle him. Now I would like to see Dalvin Cook get some carries.

A gnat can knock him down. Love his story but we need ballers NOT stories.

Lazy low character players....Dak is Dak....day one to now...always a little late, always missing high or behind....always taking bad sacks....those are his failure points...he's good in a lot of ways, but just not quite there.

I'm more mad at the low character players than JJ....I don't give a dang if he insulted a radio personality.... 12-5, 12-5, 12-5 says this is a disingenuous article at best....mostly it's just typical low hanging fruit from a casual...Smith has been bad at the Jets, Cooks apparently been hurt all year, 5 missing defensive starters...including the 3 best edge players and the Mike LB that QB's the defense..... Aikman roasted the WR's ethic, not the scheme....lazy, low character, got paid athletes that don't care anymore....and THEN suddenly Martin is losing it (worst grade of his entire career), and Steele is washed....no way to predict that happening....those are high character players....so, it's just more than y'all hating on JJ....50+ years I've loved this game, hand in the dirt, coach, student, fan....y'all know man

He said you can put tape in on Baltimore, Minnesota, Washington or most any team that's been successful throwing the ball and the biggest difference in those teams and Dallas? The receivers, horrible routes and he said CD looks like a HS receiver coming off the LOS when he isn't getting the ball. The consistency and muscle memory for the QB is inconsistent because the routes are terribly inconsistent. Troy said yes Dak will throw a bad ball once in a while but the route running is the worst in the league. This is Troy talking not me. He continued with the muscle memory and consistency by saying take into account how his receivers are running their routes and let's throw in the pass pro he's getting.

Troy said Dak doesn't have a chance with those two things going on. He said as long as there's been football the losses are put on the QB and HC to the naked eye. Then he carries on to the study of film and said anyone who knows football and not the naked eye can see this isn't all on Dak. He said yes Dak has his own problems but let's not put this all on Dak. And to us loyal Cowboy fans his next comment will shake you, "this organization isn't very stable right now from top to bottom", "They better figure something out quick". That's not a shocker!!!

I respect Troy and his opinions but I don't know if the receivers are really that bad as I haven't watched the all 22 this year or it's a QB taking up for a QB.

I don't disagree that the route running is pretty awful and I've seen CD hot-dog his routes more than a few times. I also think the route schemes are not very effective. IMHO, the WRs have nobody who can stretch the field speed-wise and even if they did, Dak has no ability to throw accurate deep passes consistently. With that, defenses can cram 11 defenders up close to the LOS and it becomes tough to get separation for a QB who is only moderately accurate most days even on short passes. Becomes even more difficult with a mediocre OL and no RBs and LBs don't have to press the LOS to stop the run before defending the short passing game that Dallas lives and dies by.

You don't have to have an amazing QB to be successful. It's much easier to have an awesome team. It opens the playbook up and makes you harder to defend even if one part of your scheme isn't working that day. But when you top-load the salary cap with Dak and CD combining for nearly 40% of the total cap space, you can't build a team around them. That's fine if those guys are Brady and Moss, but they aren't and never have been.

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.
