GrubEx

Missed it. Must have been a limited sale. Price is now $36.

I logged out and checked multiple devices and the price was still $15

When I checked the link on my cell phone it showed the $15 price but showed none were available to add to my cart. After seeing yours and Ghost post his morning, I logged in with my laptop and saw the $15 price and was able to grab a couple of bags. Thanks for the heads up!

Walmart is starting to have some good clearance deal. I use this Preen in flowerbeds and it needs to be watered in immediately

Well historically I feel like Iโ€™ve been behind the eight ball on my fall attack on the weed issue.
Having said that, I put out my weed and feed a couple weeks ago which I think is a little earlier than I have in the past.
I have found the 2, 4 will kill the button weed that was thriving earlier in the year.
Iโ€™m ready for the fight.

There isnโ€™t any rain in the forecast until 10/22.
Iโ€™ll mow, then put down milorganite, peat moss, and sulphur in six days and water it in.
Weโ€™ve had some wet, warm winters recently which can cause significant fungal issues the following spring.
Lowering the ph some with sulfur and peat moss makes me feel better

JCB I'm honestly not doing anything. I've pretty much got everything done for the year and just mowing and watering as needed.

CCTX. I wouldn't put down sulphur now. It need heat and water to breakdown. The heat is done. I don't think it would breakdown. I put my last app down around Sept 1st. if not a week before.

Iโ€™m always ready for this time of year to arrive after a long hot summer. Been a much different year from last year. August was pretty dry and then over 10โ€ of rain in September. Last fertilizer application 2 weeks ago for a total of right at 5 lbs. of nitrogen per K. Been using Tnex since mid June and last application 10 days ago. Front coming thru tonight will bring temps down enough to reduce any Bermuda growth. I figure Iโ€™ve got 2 mows left in the season and 3 if Iโ€™m bored and want the exercise.

Fungus issues is an understatement over the last two years in New Bruanfels. I tried everything chemically to get a handle on it, limited watering, etc.

I fertilized with organic (medina) once already and will hit my St Augustine again before winter. I am planning on leveling and composting this spring. The only option I haven't tried is to go completely organic and see what happens. I suspect over the years the yard has flooded many times and no one bothered to wash the sediment off the yard so the yard has a hard crust on top that is causing problems. We will see if this helps.

My yard has slowly gotten better over the 5 years I have been there but it has never been what I want so we will see if this makes a difference.

Iโ€™m killing off the SA and going back to Bermuda.
Tired of fighting that fungus and everything involved with SA.

Buttonweed
That stuff is taking over everywhere I look.
I found that the 2, 4-D will kill it.

I meant to double post this on the THF and TFF. Realized I only posted it on the THF. Get your life together and lets get some Pre down!

Time to be thinking about getting your Pre Emergent. DFW area my date is February 15th. I like the active ingredient Prodiamine. Which the last couple of years was Lesco Stonewall at Lowes. It has gotten really hard to find. I'll link it so you can see if your store has any. If not the best deal I have seen so far is Lebanon Prodiamine. Neither HD or Lowes seems to have it in store. I will link the HD. HD has been doing free ship to home. If Lowes is your only option they are the exact same price but they are only shipping to store for free. If I happen to find a better deal on a product I will update. This is for grassy weed prevention and not broadleaf weeds. I don't have a Site One to shop at so not sure what they have. See any product you're interested in post a link and I will check it out.

You would want to apply the Lebanon at 3lbs per 1000sq feet then water it in well. If you don't have irrigation you would want to time it before rain. Not flooding rains when they forecast 2-3". 1/2-1" rains would be best.

Derek, what would you recommend if we can't get the Prodaimine product? The local Lowes do not stock it.

Other options I see are dithiopyr and Pre-M.

Of those two I would go with Dithiopyr. You can order Proaimine from Home Depot and they have free shipping on it. For some reason my original link stopped working. Here is the new one.
