I am looking at getting one from the dealer or maybe online. The one online looks identical to the one I lost at 1/2 the cost from dealer. I have heard that some dealers will not program unless purchased from them. I have also heard that a reputable locksmith can program them at a cost less than the dealer. Has anybody had to do this, and which route did you chose. This is for a 2019 Accord if that matters...TIA My son lost Mrs RayBob's spare key FOB while we were in Canada. He ordered one and then downloaded a program to his laptop and programed the new one by plugging his laptop into her RAV.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

I just used the Dorman key fob and programmer. Was easy and works. Need programmer for newer vehicles. Check out their site. Will tell you what you need. Then order from Amazon or wherever Wow, first post in 12 years! Sometimes there's just nothing to say.

This is good to know. I always thought you could only get a key fob from a dealer.
