6ft medium light fast with a size 25 reel. Currently spooled with Mr crappie 4lb hi vis. I'd like to dedicate this rod as a live bait/bobber rod. What do y'all think?
This has got to be an old rod. The last 6' rod I've seen is my Ugly Stik that's 20 years old.
You can get 5', 6.6, 7. But a 6' rod has become a rare bird. At least in my travels. I don't know if technology has made it to where they can do light actions in shorter and longer. But not in 6'.
Back in the day, 6' was the catch all. From perch to bass. Usually bank fishing. I'm guessing the terminal weight tuning range is 1/8 to 3/8 ounce(4# is 1/8). So to use a bobber and live bait. They'll have to small. Really small. Not for the fish weight. But for how much tension the 4# receives while casting it.
In 2024, 6 feet is an odd size. Stiffer tuning.
I agree,
