Thinking about fishing Lake Champion Creek outside Colorado City this Saturday morning. I have not fished there in 10 years, so I'm trying to refresh my memory. Has anyone fished it lately? Looking for tip, tactics, the good the bad and the ugly.

I don’t know about the fishing but it is nearly 17 foot low. Do you still have to get a key to get in or is it open all time?
I fish on the edge and stay out of the middle

They have now opened a store and park. Fisher Park. I think they have a bait shop now.

I fished it Monday for catfish. Bring your own bait. No minnows, no frozen shad. They did have goldfish. There were bubbles coming from the bottom. I’m assuming the lake was turning over. We caught a few cats.
