Should you remove your map card from the head unit when not in use or does it matter one way or the other?

When you leave it in the spring is compressed and gets weaker so one day it won't come out. When the card is in and then moisture collects and that is not good for the card or the slot for long time use. I always take out at end of the day. Have seen many users that leave it in and after about a year or 2 they have issues.
