as near as I can tell fishing on most lakes in Texas are not doing well and it seems to be coin siding with the FFS as it has been getting worse since FFS came along . Fishing pressure has increased to a point that our lake are being over whelmed and can not keep up with what is going on. We were told way back when that you could not fish a lake out but we found that it was not true and now we are finding it out again .Pressure on our lakes is not sustainable and it is showing up on all of our lake .

Sealey was there just over a week ago and had 19-20 overs weighed.

I lived through the catch and eat era and it was better than what we have now. I think the fish are there but they are so wise to what they see on a daily basis it just makes them harder to catch. I also think you have to factor in native strain vs Florida as well, the native were a lot more aggressive I believe. From my own personal experience going from a plane Jane jon boat to a bass boat I think a lot of that has to do with what we are fishing from and the noises that come from it. I've had a lot better results if I use my power poles and turn everything off and just set for a bit before I make a cast.
Doing this has also taught me to look for those points that are shallow enough to let me use the power poles but are with in a cast of deep water. That lets you use them both shallow and deep.

More fishing pressure is definitely the problem. When I go fishing 95% of the people I see are still fishing the bank. Don't see its a ffs problem. Maybe you fish different lakes than I do pk.

More people fishing has exploded since I started 40 years ago. Good for them. There's worse things you can do besides going fishing. My biggest complaint is more lakes and homeowners on these lakes, plus TPW are hell bent on destroying grass and fish habitat.Property values and pleasure boating control lakes today. JMHO.

It's gotten to the point where I've turned to other hobbies for the time being. The fishing pressure around DFW is unreal. Catching 5 keepers in a single trip is proving to be difficult on our DFW lakes without FFS. I'm not sure if it's any easier with FFS.

Add in the pleasure boaters, and it just isn't a fun time.

I don't think Joe q public can use ffs well enough to effect bass populations. Increased pressure and golden algea screwed up pk. It's no more complicated than that.

BETWEEN FFS AND THE PRESSURE PUT ON OUR LAKES DURING AND AFTER COVI. IT HAS BECOME AN UNNATURAL AND HEART BREAKING THING TO WATCH. It's not just one thing killing our lakes it's the whole thing going on on our lakes . Many times on our lakes you can sit in 1 spot and count 25 to fifty boat running around and then you add a high school tournament to that and you have complete destruction of what once was a beautiful lake being run down by people who do not care .

You can yell all you want. Joe q public isn't good enough with ffs to bother bass populations 1 percent.

FFS has nothing to do with it, lakes cycle, that’s all it is.

I look at the guides as a true gauge of how the lakes doing. Seems like the only social media chatter I see is when a fork guide goes to another lake, or there’s a tournament like McD’s coming up and they’re trying to push sponsor products. The guides drive business to the lake with their reports/posts…. You see something every now and then, but nothing like it was just a few years ago. Are they booked for the year and don’t care about driving business to the lake? Or are they not catching the picture taking fish anymore?
Having said that… she looks better this year than I’ve seen in a while. some more time with all the good grass, hyacinth, and pads can only continue to improve things IF they can keep water in the lake.

Buda the lake looks good for sure but the spray boats are coming and hopefully they don’t kill it all.
