I've been using some Lethal Weapon Lethal Bugs that I've had for quite awhile. I love the jig and it gets bit but the hooks are a little light. They hold up pretty well until you do bend it even a bit. You can bend it back but it'll bend out again, even on dinks or a slight hang up. I'm looking for an alternative that has hand tied skirts, a wire keeper, a somewhat compact desiign, and a good hook. What doe you guys use?

I make a lot of my own but saw this jig as a prototype early this year and once they dropped I bought a few. I really, really like it. Its pure quality and possibly one of the best jig hooks I've ever used. It's the Juggernaut jig from Toad Thumper.I have no association with the company other than as a customer.

Those do look good. Looks like they have everything I was asking for and I really like the colors too. I'll throw a couple in my cart, Thanks!

I hope you like it. I've ordered a good supply of them after I used them.

I have been using that hook for my swim jigs along with some gammy ewgs. I have not caught enough fish with a swim jig to get a good comparison between the 2 hooks.
I can skip any jig and I am partial to light wire hooks, but the owner cut throat are a good compromise. They are not too thin, but they stick like the light wire hooks.
I believe I get many more bites on light wire hooks. VMC has a good 60 degree medium hook as well

Everyone will see things differently. It's all good. I don't personally feel like the diameter of my hooks has ever affected the number of bites I get but again others might. This hook about the best jighook I've used. I poured my own for a while as well and enjoyed Mustad, Owner and Gamakatsu hooks. I normally want a thicker hook in my pitching, flipping and skipping jigs because of the type of cover I normally use them in.

I am not that good of a jig fisherman but I love to fish them and have used about every brand around for the last 30 + years and finally settled on Santone specifically because of the really stout hooks. On my Swim Jigs I almost always stick with their White Shadow skirt but buy them in bulk and sometimes will use another skirt here and there. For my so called flipping jigs I buy the Rattlin jigs in bulk and I order skirt strands from fishingskirts.com and love making my own even though most of those darker skirts will be some combination of Dark Green Pumpkin with a strand of some other color mixed in. I always have a Swim Jig tied on and a Flipping jig although for the last few years I have just as much confidence flipping a Swim Jig and just as much confidence Swimming a Rattlin Jig. You should get you a couple and check these hooks out, they are beasts.
And now that I am headed to the Orthopedic specialist this week to get an MRI on my torn bicep tendon I am going to have a lot of time on my hands this winter for building a ton of them.

I skip a lot of docks. I have been using Matt Herren Dirty Jigs flipping jigs or the Luke Clausen Compact flipping jigs. Both seem pretty good quality. I do run into some issues have beating the jig against docks, sometimes the lure holder gets bend out or the bottom part of the lead breaks. But that's bound to happen. I can get them at Bass Pro or Academy.

Dirty Jigs has a lot of options if you want to go to bigger hooks and the like. I haven't had any problems with the ones I mention so I will stick with them. The results of any skipping jig has more to do with the fisherman and the trailer.

Andy Montgomery designed a jig for skipping for Strike King and it does skip very well. About all I use when dock fishing

I like just an old school Arkie head from Boss and make my own skirt. My favorite all around jig.

Doesn’t matter so much for the jig as it does the trailer and weight of the jig. Give me 3/4 ounce jig and a beaver style trailer and I can skip it from one side to the other.

Mark you are absolutely correct on the light wire hooks for bigger fish. Anyone can pull a big hook through a piece of paper but try it on a piece of wood. Big fish have a much tougher mouth than the small fish. Also, I can normally bend a light wire hook if I get hung up then I just bend the hook back, but I usually end up breaking the line with heavier hooks.

Viper head jigs are good to skip with. Good for docks or low hanging tree out over the banks edge they work really well.
