Over the years, I’ve had a couple of neighbor trees fall into my yard. The damage and the removal of the tree was on me. Neither one met my deductible, so it was all out of pocket….my pocket.

When a neighbors tree falls in your yard, it be comes your tree.

File a claim if it will exceed your deductible.

Doesn’t sound “like a good neighbor” to me.

The neighbor should offer to pay the deductible

I had a boat claim. Somehow it is listed as a homeowners claim. Didn’t change my rates, but we wanted to move everything to a different insurer and they advised that we should wait a year, as we have an $1100 claim a year and a half ago. Haha.

F-in insurance. Can’t live with it, or without it.

The tree that got me was a known dead tree in my neighbors yard that had been struck by lightning 4-5 months ago. Their insurance will/should cover it under their liability.

Cause of loss will be wind, doubt your neighbors liability policy is going to cover any of your damage.

Yes their policy only covers damage to their property most of the time, so it will be on your insurance policy.

Back when I was in Irving, A buddy put his motorcylce in my back yard, neighbor tree fell down on fence and hit motorcycle, it had been there couple years I don't know what happened to the owner, but their insurance gave me money for the motorcycle

That was about 25 years ago. I didn't even ask for money the adjustor of the neighbor cut me a check for it.

Neighbor said they knew the tree was dead and should have had it removed. They told me to call our a/c guy and have it replaced and they'd cut him a check. A/C guy just left and will be back tomorrow morning to do the install.
