"Unfortunately, under initiated ordinance 308, it appears that sale and purchase of flies, lures, or fly tying materials including animal fur would be prohibited in Denver โ€“ including delivery to a Denver address from retailers located outside of the city. If 308 passes โ€“ Denver anglers will no longer be able to purchase those flies and lures, or materials with which to tie them at home, within the City and County of Denver." - - -

I guess as long as you are just "visiting" it's not that bad. The west seems to be pretty jaded to me, but what do I know.

I still Love Colorado. I spend nearly 3 months of the year there every year and never go to Denver. Texas has politics I disagree with too, and the trout fishing sucks, unless you like stockers.
I really hope this does not pass though, I have some good friends in the Denver area. They will just order materials online I'm sure, but it will really hurt the fly shops I think.

I have family living in Colorado. Weather is outstanding, the way the State and most cities are governed is horrible . eeks

Side note. It's also very expensive to live there. juggle

Wow, CO has gone off the deep end! we are visiting some friends this week in La Veta CO, just
went to Bear Lake on saturday caught our limit of rainbows and was great! temp in high 30's warmed to about 69
when we left the park around noon. Great place, no white flys would work! Gold mixed silver spoon with
red stripe on side was a killer! Caught a nice 19" but no camera ready to grab it, only keep about 12 to 14" ones.

Will definitly will be back again someday! No shots heard from opening of Elk season on sat!

Teach a child to fish, and you get them hooked for life! then the memories begin!

Colorado was a red state 20 years ago, and most of the areas outside of Denver (except for ski resort towns) are still deep red, just not very heavily populated. These days that state (denver in particular) might as well be california east with some of the whacky laws they have now.

The maroons that put this ordinance together should never be allowed to buy a pair of leather shoes or eat a steak again! Tree-hugging snowflakes think itโ€™s inhumane to use fur and feathers to tie flies!!??!! And of course they think itโ€™s inhumane to hook a fish with one of those mean old fur flies!

Sometimes I just want to SSSCRRREEEAAAMMM!!

Really nothing to see here, just Denver being Dallas in Colorado.

Not sure I get that comparison really ... you're saying Dallas is "liberal?"
