![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2024/09/full-8784-243166-img_2674.jpg) Bad storm came through Onalaska this evening. Small twister took the top out of a neighbors pine tree and deposited it on my central A/C compressor. Well [censored]!

Whatever you do don't file an insurance claim, that $7,000 condenser will end up costing you $70k by the time your premiums are done rising...

The tree that got me was a known dead tree in my neighbors yard that had been struck by lightning 4-5 months ago. Their insurance will/should cover it under their liability.

I thought that insurance companies cannot raise your rates for "acts of god". My rates did not go up following 2 wind/hail claims. Maybe this has changed lately? I guess they could also come up with some BS about the tree not be properly maintained or too close to house.

Cause of loss will be wind, doubt your neighbors liability policy is going to cover any of your damage.

When the guys limb fell on my truck, it was my insurance that covered damages. "Act of God".
