Was an interesting model you had to be a salesman and a food delivery person all in one. My parents ordered it a lot growing up.

We had a weekly pickup football game with about 30 neighborhood kids in the giant median between garden ridge. A couple if time the local schwan guy pulled his truck up and would play quarterback for a while. He always gave us Ice cream from his truck.

Wife used it for several years. Their pricing was outrageous (to me) but most of their products were quite good especially the bluberry scones.

Some of those drivers made good money. They had to hustle and grow the route but theones that put in the effort could do pretty well.

My dad drove for them in the late 80’s early 90’s in Midland/Odessa. When I went out there for the summers I rode with him to spend some time with him during the week. Dad was a born salesman, he did really well at it. I still ordered some from time to time till about 6 or 7 years. Their cookies and deserts were really good. Killer chicken cordon blu.

That’s sad. I still use/used them from time to time.

If he's like the Scwanns man in our area... you may have a few route siblings.

Used to see the truck in the old neighborhood occasionally, it’s sad but not surprising I guess

We used to buy their ice cream sandwiches. They were excellent. Their prices were high but so was the quality.
The great reset did them in.

I haven`t seen one of their trucks in quite a while. Never ordered much from them when we lived in town, but I had a cousin that bought a lot from them. Those guys had to hustle to make a buck.

Had seen a Schwan's truck in in years... Then when we moved to E. Tennessee we started seeing them again... End of an era... Wife says that's what happens when Amazon gets involved in an industry... Dan

Brings to mind I haven't seen any of the Schwan's trucks lately. For years been seeing them every week or two. Still read Schwan's, not Yelloh.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.
