I'll be there this weekend deer hunting and would like to do some nighttime catfishing. I will be staying mid lake near mccowan park. I have stubbys cheesebait but can also catch shad if needed. Never really fished it before. I was wondering what areas of the lake and depths to fish this time of year
Thanks for any information.

If you have a boat, you can try the rip rap at the end of Katy Bridge (FM1713). You can also drift the flats off the river channel both North and South of the bridge with cutbait.

If on the bank, I would suggest going over to Steel Creek and fishing the creek side of the park (south side of park). Cut bait woud be my preference.
