I spent a hair under 2 hours this afternoon on RC and ending up searching 14 crappie and 1 hybrid. I spent the first 45 minutes idling around brush piles and looking at standing timber. The fish are there and very plentiful, if I had fished with clients we could’ve easily put 50 on ice but I was strictly looking at all the places that I fish.
How I caught them-
1/16 hair jigs and plastic worked great while pitching out over the pile and letting it swing back to the boat. Nearly every time I would get bit and bit good. I did have 7 minnows left over from my trip on Cedar Creek this morning so I went back to the timber and used minnows. There were predominantly big white crappie on the timber and they were very aggressive. The black crappie were thick on the brush piles. You could’ve easily caught 50 10 1/2” blacks on brush in a timely manner if you were after meat.
Give me a call at (903) 203-3768 and let’s go catch some crappie!! Thank y’all! Lake Country Outfitters, Cedar Creek Lake
