What are best lures for redfish and for speckled trout when trout are schooling and when trout are not schooling? I am a saltwater novice. Thanks in advance.

Big fan of hogie super minnow on 1/8 oz Oldham Head. Pumpkin plum and electric chicken will get it done in the marsh.

I’m by no means an inshore expert, our company partners spend a week in Port A every year, the trip varies from today to the second week of November, which we are doing this year.
I only fish artificial bait while every one else fishes live or cut bait. I catch as many fish as they do, I use two soft baits zoom fluke in Avocado red flake w red tail and gulp shrimp in whatever color has the lowest stock at Port A academy. My topwater bait is a spook jr in iridescent white with and without a knocker. For the fluke I use oldham screw lock jig heads in the lightest weight for the wind or current conditions, I’ll dead stick them with light pulls of the rod tip. I Watched a recent SWTexas fishing show a while age and the host was whacking the reds with a square bill along the rocks. So I’ll have a few for the jetty this year.

Put on a small spoon for the schoolers - you can cast it a mile and then just reel through them or pop it and they'll be all over it. I've caught ones on 8" spoons that were not much bigger than the spoon.

Bass Assassin 4” Sea Shad. Chicken on the Chain. One rod on a 1/4oz jig head. One on a 1/2oz. The heavier one is to fling it under any hovering bird. Fish the other the rest of the time.
This catches them if you get around them. They seem to like smaller baits better over there. Been there many times. Key is finding areas holding fish. Need a few cold fronts to start moving the shrimp out of the marshes.
Going to be a lot of school trout this time of year.
