I’m holed up in Odessa for one more night. Odessa isn’t as fancy as Midland so it was the only place I could stay that would keep within budget with my company. So here I am in the Candlewood Suites. Something in here smells like pee but I can’t pin down where it is coming from. There are places to eat here, but they seem a lot farther away than they really are because there is so much traffic. Candlewood Suites is on the lower end of the types of places I stay in, but they have a little baby stove and a skillet. I decided tonight, instead of braving the wild, I’d just stay here and drink beer and cook a Walmart Steak in the room.

I wonder how much smoke the sprinkler system in the room can handle? I will put on pants before I start so if people start knocking on the door I am at least decent. Wish me luck

Smoke will not set off the sprinkler system. Only a temperature of over 155 degrees. So your good.

Eat ramen or a microwave meal. You won't be doing this often.

You might want to put the pants on - due to the fire alarm smoke sensor in the room.

Grill it on the iron. Works great!

That is not an option. A dry Aluminum skillet is what we are going with.
