I'm gonna take a hard pass. That thing would be a nightmare in thick timber. Interesting though.

Rod(s) and gear storage looks to be problematic.

I was thinking the same thing until I saw minute 2:02 of the video... seems like a reasonable amount of gear can be stored. I like the flip-up prop as well. Seems like a well thought out design.

If I wanted this design and did not have a truck, I would be tempted to give it a shot. However, I have a truck and would go with the Blue Sky (same design at a slightly lower price)....

Yes, it is heavy at 147#, and costly at $5500 + $500? Shipping, but I thought it has ideas that might be used in future kayak/ pontoon designs..

I love the idea of a Drop-down bar which allows someone to crawl back in, maybe I can figure out some way to use that idea with one of my current float tubes, ha.. Also the telescopic seat / stand up bar is a cool idea, but that requires a much more stable base than can be provided with a lightweight Float Tube. It might work with a pontoon, and be a lot lighter! Whole thing is much more useful for the stand up fishing aspect compared to a kayak or canoe of the same size- JMHO.

OTOH, those tiny Wheels with at least 147 lb on them might be useless on soft sand or pebblely/ rocky ground rolling areas, they probably only work with hard pack, if that.

Maybe the price will come down someday, if it is abandoned and becomes an Asian knockoff, ha!

Absolutely. Innovation is everything... sometimes the folks who are the most innovative never get to reap the reward.

Sure, it's not a kayak, but it will get folks on the water who do not otherwise want (or have the means) to pull (and store) a boat.

All and all, I like it. I have always liked the Blue Sky as well. This one is a Blue Sky that folds... seems like the only compromise is seat comfort. For folks who do not have a truck and are looking for something "boat like", this works!

Then get yourself a semi inflatable. banana carries a load, very stable, and fold down rigid seat… checks all your boxes! roflmao

All It needs is some red metallic flake and you'd be set!

I wished I had gotten a picture of it on top of his sub compact.. roflmao no pads, no nothing but rope... wood frame bottom slid right off roof and on down off sloping glass... he was proud of his boat.. asked him if he needed anything to drink as he was taking a lot of breaks... said he had plenty of beer.. I was surprised at how stable he seemed..

May be a good rental option on smaller lakes/ponds. Like someone else mentioned, I could see it being difficult with the timber at Fork.
