My personal world has gotten much smaller and anecdotal. I talk to friends, get their experiences and information, and heavily weight their opinion vs what I read online.

I had never heard of the dead internet theory, but you really have to wade through so much bad and mis information that it is difficult to make heads or tails of something. On top of that, now you have 100% fabricated AI videos.

AI is making more believable videos. We knew it was coming for decades but now faced with it what are we going to do.

It does appear to me that we will resist all attempts at change. The same people that get off on fake videos and news are the same ones complaining about it not being trustworthy.

"Online conspiracy theory." I have to laugh. I don't see how this would be a labeled conspiracy unless you were actively trying to misdirect and confused people. Nothing conspiracy about it-- there are millions of bots and (weaponized) misinformation.
