Absolute worst attack on American soil, next to Pearl Harbor. No way I could ever forget where I was, what took place, and watching my parents leave for Military assignments.

I'll never forget it. I remember being called into the patrol Sergeant's office.


"Have a seat".....( Oh Boy)


Your unit says be there by 5am. Or they're sending the MPs. (We both look at each in bewilderment, since I was a MP sitting at the Sheriff's office. They didn't contact me directly. They contacted my civilian job)

....That was the exact moment, I found out I was going to war.


So yeah, memories burned in like a cattle brand.

How fractured we have become in 23 years!

I will never forget.

I will never forget but sadly the ones who are not old enough to remember will have nothing to forget. My kids can still remember me going and picking them up from school.
Unless we teach them what happened and why. As parents, and grandparents, I think we have a responsibility to do that.
